چکیده

Abstract Study design Retrospective single-center cohort study. Background The spine is the most common anatomic site for osteoporotic fractures. Osteoporotic vertebral fractures play an increasingly important role in geriatric patients and percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) constitutes a treatment option. aim of this study was to evaluate safety efficacy PVP with cardiovascular comorbidities at our center. Methods In retrospective study, 49 aged ≥ 65 total 88 underwent vertebroplasty. MRI CT scans were performed all prior surgery. All evaluated 4 weeks after surgery as part their clinical follow-up. VAS scores recorded before operation. Postoperative complications within 30 days initial analyzed. Results mean age 77 years (± 6.4). Of patients, 39 (80%) female, 36 (76%) had comorbidities. frequent postoperative cement leakage no new neurological deficits (14.3%). in-hospital mortality rate 1 out (2%). revealed overall pain reduction > 97%. None following affected patient safety: ASA, BMI, duration surgery, or level localization Conclusions Our data demonstrate that feasible effective despite Level evidence 3.

A randomized trial of vertebroplasty for painful osteoporotic vertebral fractures.

BACKGROUND Vertebroplasty has become a common treatment for painful osteoporotic vertebral fractures, but there is limited evidence to support its use. METHODS We performed a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in which participants with one or two painful osteoporotic vertebral fractures that were of less than 12 months' duration and unhealed, as confirmed by magn...
